The ukulele attributes it to the nickname of the Englishman Edward William Purvis'. Ukulele literally means roughly "jumping flea." This instrument has been used in Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, and inland United States. It has been played at street parades, fairs, luaus, and simply at home with a family.
